About Our Staff

Rock Island Regional Office staff are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Professional and Support staff work together as a team to provide care coordination for eligible children. Team members include Nurses, Social Workers, Speech and Hearing professionals and program consultant aides (PCA). A Program Services Manager (PSM) supervises the Regional office team. The office is located at:

December 12Holiday Carnival for Children with Disabilities and their Family Illinois/Iowa Center for Independent Living Saturday, December 12 11AM-3PM Open to Mercer, Rock Island and Henry Counties in IL; Scott, Clinton and Muscatine Counties in IA. Program: Completley accessible Santa's workshop with activities for all the children including Santa's ice fishing pond, Grandma's kitchen, Reindeer Barn, Snowman Village, Christmas Tree Forest, and much more! We provide transportation services (Medicar and Service car) to residents of the Quad Cities. Our services cover individual or group transportation needs (regardless of disabilites) to social events, hospitals, tours, shopping, private visits and meetings.

AETS will provide transportation services to persons whose medical condition(s) require the use of a hydraulic or electric  lift or ramp and wheel chair lockdown.

AETS is registered with Illinois Department of Health Care and Family Services (IDHFS), DCO and managed care organizations.

We respong promptly to client needs and services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

We are experienced, licensed, insured and offer low rates.

GENERATIONS OF HOPE PARENTS SUPPORT GROUP

For parents or caretakers of children with mental illnesses.

Generations of Hope goals are to provide:

  • A chance for parents to discuss common problems and exchange ideas for problem solving
  • The opportunity to be heard by other people who understand your situations and feelings.
  • Speakers and presenters who can educate and empower members

WHERE: Trinity Robert Young Center 2200 3rd Ave Rock Island (pull into parking lot; go to glass double doors entrance)

WHEN: The second Monday of every month

All Kids Program

  • The All Kids program will include all services covered by Medicaid and KidCare, with the exception of non-emergency medical transportation.
  • Monthly premiums and co-pays would be determined on a sliding scale, depending on household income.
  • No co-pays would be required for preventative care visits, such as immunizations and regular check-ups.

SSI and SSDI

Don't forget, if you are a parent of a special needs or disabled child, your child may qualify for social security disability insurance or supplemental security income. This income is based on need, not prior work history. To find if you qualify, visit Social Security online or call 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778).


S.P.E.A.K (Support Parents Educating Autistic Kids)

If you or someone you know is the parent to an Autistic child then you know the resources to help are limited. Amy Hillyer felt the same way when she found out her son had autism.  So she has found SPEAK. This program has many resources for parents of autistic children as well as children with speech communicative disorders and developmental delays. Latino Services for the Quad Cities

The Yellow Page for Kids with Disabilities provides a new listing of resources for children and parents.  The website is a state run site and has many listing ranging from goverment resources to grassroots organizations.


AUTISM RESOURCES

The Maternal and Child Health Library released a new edition of the knowledge path, Autism Spectrum Disorders. The knowledge path points to current resources about screening for autism spectrum disorders, diagnosis, treatment and intervention, communication, education, vocational challenges, and impact on family life.
