PROVIDER APPROVAL CRITERIA

Physician specialists and other professionals must meet discipline specific criteria, carry professional liability insurance in amounts appropriate to their specialty, and agree to abide by DSCC policy and procedures to participate and receive reimbursement for services provided to DSCC patients. Similar criteria exist for the approval of providers of equipment, nursing agencies, hospitals, and specialized treatment centers.

Primary Care Physicians can participate and be reimbursed for services when assisting a credentialled specialist with selected portions of a child's treatment plan. Reimbursable services might include periodic monitoring and adjustment of medications, observation for progress or complications of treatment, and local emergency management of life threatening complications. Primary care physicians must also carry an appropriate amount of professional liability insurance and agree to abide by DSCC reimbursement policies and procedures.
