1.  What help does DSCC provide?
        For children with eligible medical conditions, DSCC provides care coordination and (if financial eligibility is met) helps pay for eligible medical care. This may include eligible doctor's visits, hospital admissions, medications, therapy, medical equipment and supplies.

2.  Is there an income requirement to qualify for financial assistance?
        Yes. Financial eligibility is determined by the family's size and total annual income. Financial eligibility is based on 285% of the Federal Povery Guidelines as published annually by the Department of Health and Human Services. Families with total income not more than 285% of the Federal Poverty Level, adjusted for family size, are eligible for DSCC financial support

3.  Can I have insurance and still get help?
        Yes. DSCC does require other insurance benefits be used first before DSCC will pay for eligible care.

4.  Can DSCC help with psychological, emotional, cognitive, and developmental delay problems?
        No. These health problems are not, by themselves, eligible for DSCC support.

5.  Can DSCC help pay all the medical bills I have already accumulated?
        For families who meet the financial eligibility requirements, DSCC can pay for eligible medical care which occurred within 30 days prior to the date DSCC received a family's complete application package.

6.  Does DSCC cover children with Down syndrome?
        DSCC does not cover syndromes, however some medical impairments associated with Down syndrome may be covered. Examples include: heart problems and hearing problems.

7.  Who can refer a child to this program?
        Anyone. If a child is referred by someone other than a parent or legal guardian, DSCC will contact parent/legal guardian and invite them to apply.
