How Do I Help?
With a one-time or annual donation of any amount, no matter how small,
to Friends of DSCC, you can have an impact on the quality of life of
a family with a child with special health care needs.
Join the caring individuals, families and businesses that
have made a tax deductible donation to the Friends of DSCC Fund.
What is Friends of DSCC?
The Friends of DSCC Fund is derived solely from gifts, donations, bequests
and other private monetary contributions from people like you.
The University places specific requirements on the utilization
of gift fund accounts, and DSCC uses these funds primarily to support
unique, non-recurring needs of children and families that could not
otherwise be met through the DSCC program or other sources of assistance.
Friends of DSCC is a wonderful opportunity
to make a difference in the life of a child.
What Will My Contribution Provide?
Examples of medical and educational supplies and services Friends of
DSCC has helped families purchase:
- Adaptive alarm clocks and smoke detectors for the hearing impaired
- A medical ID necklace
- Special order hinges to make a bedroom wheelchair accessible
- Spina Bifida conference registration fees
- Sign language books and tapes for children with hearing impairments
What Can I Expect?
All donors receive a Friends of DSCC pin and are listed in the biannual
"Honor Roll of Giving" in DSCC's family newsletter, Special Addition.
Giving is Easy
You may contribute online, by mail, or choose the convenience of Electronic
Funds Transfer. You may make a one-time or recurring donation, or designate
a gift in honor or in memory of others. University of Illinois employees
may also contribute via payroll deduction - contact your Human Resources
representative for further information.
Many companies will match, double or even triple charitable
gifts made by employees or retirees. Be sure to ask whether your company
offers this benefit.
